Neon Abstract: paintings of calm and order amid the flux of being.

In the Neon Abstract series I am after a particular state: a composition arrested in the moment yet held in tension, ready to move again. A maximal clash of colour, shape and texture resolved into a discordant-beauty; composure arrived at, not assumed. The build-up of high-pigment mixed media, the inclusions and layers, are a record of the time and decisions it has taken to get there. The surface is the history of its own making. These pictures are not paintings of that composure. They are how I find it.
